We're Aaron and Amanda — A², if you're doing the math. Since 2022 we've been collecting one-way tickets, dinner reservations, and last calls in cocktail bars on every continent but one. Life is great.
Off the books: Amanda's personal manifest also carries Cuba and Canada — filed separately, still counts to her. Aaron's running total sits at 130 countries; 45 of those were with Amanda.
Most trips start with a return flight already booked. Ours usually start with a conversation at a cocktail bar that ends in a one-way ticket. We've found that the itinerary tends to write itself once you stop insisting on a plan — trains get missed, detours get taken, and the best meal of the month is almost never the one that was booked in advance.
What we're actually chasing is the small stuff: the bartender who talks you into the local digestif, the market stall with no sign, the bar you ducked into during a downpour and stayed in for an hour. Forty‑five countries in, that part hasn't changed.
“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you.”
— Anthony Bourdain
Somewhere in every country on this list — a lamppost, a hostel bunk, the underside of a café table — there's a sticker like this one, stuck down and left for the next person to find. Call it a tag, call it proof of life. Forty‑five countries, forty‑five stickers, no forwarding address.
Also in there: Vatican City, Monaco, and San Marino — three of the five smallest countries on Earth, all stamped on the same run through Europe.
The one that started it all. No manifest survives from this leg — just the receipts, the photos, and an Instagram feed that's been running ever since.
See the archive →Italy alone took six weeks. The route, for the record:
Eighteen countries, and four of them logged in the space of two weeks through the North Sea and back down into the UK:
The Wales stamp was earned at Wrexham AFC — Huddersfield Town away, 22 Oct 2024 — Hollywood's favorite League Two club.
Fifty‑seven flights, 155,178 km — the year the old “fourth stop” mystery finally got solved. It was Portugal.
The year Aaron turned 50 somewhere between Tokyo and Bangkok, and the Winter Olympics landed close enough to home to just go.
The real board updates faster than this page does — this is the highlight reel, not the full manifest.
Every flight, ferry, and questionable cocktail decision, documented in real time.
